Re: Halloween in the Philippines
In most countries, this time of year is considered one of the four most important. They say that at the spring and fall equinox and the summer and winter solistice the veil between the visible and invisible are at its thinnest. It is a time to give honor to the spirits and the departed as they can be manifest at this time. Sadly this is still seen in majority Catholic countries and the U.S. where people from those countries have moved. This is why we have Cinco de Mayo (Day of the Dead I believe) celebrations. The Catholic Church never removed the pagan from the people.
