You have no excuse YOUR pastor never took ONE dime of the church for his own personal use all the years he pastored and provided jobs for many of the men in the church.

Mature men should know that young women having a first baby are nervous... it's just part of the deal... You could try encouraging some birth prep. classes among your membership.
There are lots of things in life that are scary. Taking college entrance exams, having surgery, going to boot camp... You can not follow people into those situations and you should not follow a young mother into her childbed room either. Your job is to help people grow up, not to teach the that they can not live without you there every moment. A woman needs this time alone with her husband or if she has none then with her own mother or another mature woman and her doctor or midwife. It is abuse for you to follow a woman to the hospital and she may not have the nerve to say she does not want you there. You should be the mature one in this situation and pray from afar.
Good grief.
