A Messianic Jewish pastor named Jonathan Cahn presented a VERY interesting teaching about the HARBINGERS of 9-11. A Harbinger is a sign or omen of something to come, sometimes good sometimes bad.
He said that
Isa 9:10 shows a DEFIANCE of Israel after God used Assyria to afflict them due to Israel's sins.
Instead of repenting, Israel looked at the warning destruction from God using Assyria and vowed these words to make themselves more resistant to any further destruction:
Isaiah 9:10 KJV The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
And speaking of 9-11, look at the next verse:
Isaiah 9:11 KJV Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
"Cedars" in
Isa 9:10, in Hebrew, is ארז ('erez). A conifer tree.
A day after 9-11 occurred, they found that a beam shot out from the twin towards and struck and uprooted -- of all things -- A SYCOMORE tree! Just like the prophet referred to. And three years later they planted THE TREE OF HOPE in the direct place where the sycomore used to stand. And that tree was a conifer tree! EREZ!
And as bricks were less stable than STONE from a quarry, Israel vowed in defiance saying they would replace their bricks with HEWN STONE. A 20 ton stone was quarried and laid in ground zero "in the revolutionary
spirit of defiance", as NY Governor Pataki said in his speech, not realizing Israel made the same defiant statement.
God had removed Israel's protection due to sin. Could it be that 9-11 was a warning judgment due to the removal of God's protection from America? And could it be that God allowed for the exact same judgments to occur in attempts to WARN America that occurred in Israel.
What was really astounding was that SENATE MAJORITY LEADER Tom Daschle made a speech on Sept 12, 2001, the day after 9-11, saying:
, “I know that there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But I think there is a passage in the Bible from Isaiah that I think speaks to all of us at times like this.
The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stones; fig trees have been felled but we will replace them with cedars.
The same words that Israel spoke in defiance WERE MISTOOK for words of encouragement. This man did not know that on that very day they would find a SYCOMORE tree uprooted at the corner of GROUND ZERO in front of St. Paul's chapel. He did not know that three years later they would plant an EREZ tree in its place, just like in
Isa 9:10.
ON THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF 9-11, 2004, IN WASHINGTON, Vice presidential candidate, JOHN EDWARDS, gives a speech.
“Today on this day of remembrance and mourning we have the Lord’s words to get us through. ‘The bricks have fallen, but we will build with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.”
