Yeah the last part of that was pointedly against having firearms in the home. This girl had to wait over twenty minutes for the police to show. More data for those who say when seconds count the police are just minutes away - twenty minutes in this case. Even the broadcaster said he had waited on a 911 call for over twenty minutes. Then to end it they have to say another young American dead. How absurd. Have a pity party for that poor defenseless man breaking into a house with a 12" knife. I am sure he was just wanting a cup of sugar to go home and make some cookies.

Exaclty. the "stat" that you are 20 times more likely to get hurt by accident in a home with a gun than to use the gun to put down a bad guy is just a lie.
I have looked at a big bunch of studies related and none of them suggest such a thing.
there is tons of literature out there that shows guns are used hundreds of thousands of times per year to stop violent attack. The number of accidental shootings is tiny by comparison.
