Re: Sinful housework

Here is a problem with some of the progressive sanctification teaching.

Its true we don't learn everything in a day. However we could learn and grow a lot faster.

Here is the difference between the true New Testament Church and the Churches of today.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Matt 28 18-20

When they witnessed and one responded in baptism their training began immediately. They taught the new convert all the commandments of Christ! This caused a radical change in their lives.

In many of todays Churches there is a hesitancy about teaching commandments. We don't want to offend anyone. After all they might get offended and leave the group!

Besides that I have noticed people spend much time then "counseling" the new convert about all the many addictions, mental problems, family problems, until it becomes all about themselves!

Converts then start out with the idea its all about their life and happiness! Then if anyone ever gets around to begin to train them in righteousness and holiness they are condemned as being "Pharisees".

So the early Church taught Christ and his commandments immediately whereas today many will never be able to get to the point of someone showing them the need of separating their lives to him.

They are spoiled early on by "Christians" telling them its not about keeping commandments.

Well its not JUST about keeping commandments. Its about loving Jesus as defined BY HIM!

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21

The love relationship between the person of Jesus and his disciple cannot occur apart from the love HE presents.

Any Evangelical talk of love relationship with Christ must be examined on this basis. According to Jesus those who do not keep his commandments are NOT in a love relationship with him.

He that loveth me NOT keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. John 14:24

So it all comes down to love! But love defined by Jesus.
