It's amazing how dogmatic people can be about outward issues, and how lackadaisical they can be about applying scriptures like the one above.
Interestingly, many liberals are seemingly no more interested in being unified with their fellow [conservative] Christians than the UC's are with them. The superiority complexes on both sides are ridiculous, and here lately, it seems like it's actually worse on the liberal side. The attitude of, "I'm so much more liberated and enlightened than you, you ignorant, bound, narrow-minded conservative" is just as repugnant as any bad attitude from the conservative side.
I wish I really knew the solution.

I can see what you're saying, but I think you assume much about the "liberals". Not sure if I'm getting lumped into that "liberal" group ( that'd be unusual), but I can say in all sincerity that I'd love to see some reconciliation. Some orgs merge. If love to see even some reconciliation between the oneness brethren and trinitarians. But within the context of OPism the UCs seem like they will never change course.
Look at the oneness orgs that are lenient on standards and their relative unity vs all the UC oneness groups. The UC groups always divide and destroy from within.
