I have been talking to a kid for a few days. He is gay and has been looking for a church. Today he asked why it's wrong for him to be gay. Why is it wrong for him to love a man.
Other than "the bible says so" I didn't have an answer, so I haven't replied.

Here was my answer...
All sin is an "abomination". While many rant and rave over homosexuality and it's sinfulness, few adequately explain "why" it is a sin.
God is love. God only desires that we love others as ourselves. Homosexuality doesn't manifest "love" as God desires. In the vast majority of cases it only manifests varying degrees of lust and self serving fraternity. When one realizes the depth to which they have allowed themselves to use others and be used by them, only then will they begin to see why it isn't pleasing to a God who is truly "love".
Essentially, isn't this the core of all sexual sin? The gratuitous use and abuse of self and others for selfish gratification? Such is void of true love.
One cannot truly love their neighbor... and continue to use them to fulfill carnal lusts as though they are objects to gratify the flesh and self.
Can anyone else contribute additional insight to the original question?
