You all sure talk about rape a lot on this forum.
My lands my mother died at the age of 80, and never was raped once.
Always these "if" blah blah, blah, so what would you do scenarios.
But, come on, you all say if someone tried to rape your wife, your daughter, your grandmother, or who ever else. But never think about what if you aren't there? What happens if you aren't there? How about this story, sadly it's true. Biker hung out with the wrong group, they send two guys over to whack him. Biker answers the door there stands the two killers, Biker has his gun pointed at them but they shoot him in the head. His wife and 5 year old son, and 3 year old daughter are still in the house.
They run to see what just happened. Wife is holding the Mossberg 500 Persuader, but receives a 38.cal round in the neck. 5 year old goes to run out door gets one in the back of the head. Killers go to leave, but one remembers that the family had a three year old, so he went looking for her. Well he found her hiding behind a dresser, scared and clutching a toy car. The murderer did not use a gun, he used his Buck knife. Sorry, to post this, but honestly, I know all those with more than a 600 count of Testosterone think they are Bruce Lee, and Rambo (not Dottie) all rolled into one.
But seriously folks more than half of you would probably blow a hole into your cat before you would stop the house invader. Or wet yourself when you heard them rummaging through your dresser.
As for the sound of a shotgun chambering a round, some times that just alerts them to where you are standing. Therefore since Mr Bolt Action just gave up his position, they jut need to wait for him to come out in the open where he can become an easier target. But this all depends on why they are there in the first place.
Faith is a big item, and whether or not we can trust a God who got three guys out of a burning oven. You can disarm someone without using deadly force, you can restrain someone without deadly force. But even that may get you into a major situation which may have a bad outcome. Just remember folks, guns don't shoot by themselves. More times than I care to remember I have heard stories of people pulling a trigger and killing a loved one when they thought they were stopping an intruder.
