Of course circumstance matters. Number of kids, income, abilities, interest in working, etc. No two situations are exactly alike.

Just think of all those men forced to go to work and provide for their families. What a crime they can't just fulfill their dreams of shopping eBay and playing Call of Duty.
Not to mention the trauma of being forced to wear pants. Oh, the humanity, no wonder everything is so messed up!
