Let's see....
Proverbs 31:10-31
10
[d] An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
11
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
She's a valuable woman. Her husband has impeccable trust in her and he will have no lack of increase.
12
She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
13
She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
14
She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
She does her husband good, and doesn't hurt him or cause harm. She leaves the home seeking wool and flax and works willingly with her hands. She takes what she makes, and like a merchant ship she goes out and sells them in the markets.
15
She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
She's an early riser. She has quite a bit to do. She makes meals for her household, and even provides sustenance for those who work for her.
16
She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She'll even buy property and make a business out of it, planting a vineyard and producing fine wine to sell in the markets.
17
She dresses herself[e] with strength
and makes her arms strong.
She's a strong woman, and knows that she has the strength and the will to get the job done.
18
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19
She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
She knows what skills she has to offer her home and society at large. She knows that her abilities are profitable and needed. She gets busy about the work that favors her talents and abilities.
20
She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She lives a life that is also dedicated to helping the poor and the needy.
21
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.[f]
She looks out for the safety of the home. She isn't afraid of the snow because she has made sure that her children are dressed in scarlet. This was a way to ensure that they could be found in the blowing snowstorm and could be seen adequately from a distance. Her children's safety is a priority.
22
She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
She ensures that her bed and her attire is beautiful, for her husband.
23
Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
She supports her husband and his work. She protects his reputation.
24
She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
She actually uses the skill she has to make garments, leaves the home, and goes out to do business in the market place.
25
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
She's strong, and has maintained her dignity and self respect. She laughs at tomorrow, knowing that no matter what it brings, she can handle it.
26
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She's wise with advise and direction. And she teaches her children kindness and compassion.
27
She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Although she does so many things already, she continuously looks after the ways of her household, managing the home, and she doesn't become idle or lazy. No, she has no time to watch soaps.
28
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
Her children love and adore her. Her husband also praises her and recognizes her hard work, talents, and abilities. She is loved and recognized for all that she contributes to the home in what she does both at the home and abroad.
29
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
To her husband, she's "superwoman". And there isn't a woman alive who is better than she in all she does.
30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
She has a loving reverence for God and this makes her truly beautiful.
31
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
She has earned her wages, let her have them. And let her work and reputation be known by all.
