It is a complete wonder to me why any one would leave a harsh taskmaster alive and kicking when a means to have this yoke broken, cut-off, has been provided.
Death is the operator for sin to lose its dominion, for our captor to be destroyed. A water separation is the judgement between the enemy and the captive; a way has been made for us to be buried together with our propitiation in his substitutionary death. The things of the spirit are truly foolishness to the natural mind. How can water save us from sin's captivity?
