When Jesus stood and quoted the O.T. (
Luke 4:18) saying that He had come to set the captives free, to heal the brokenhearted, etc......
What did He mean by being anointed to preach the gospel to the poor.
I had always thought the gospel was the death, burial & resurrection, but Jesus couldn't have preached this, because it had not happened until He had gone. The gospel here sure couldn't have been repentance, baptism and Holy Ghost, because that had not happened either.
Did He mean that He had come to preach that the Kingdom of God had come to earth? What did He mean by Him being anointed to "preach the gospel"?
