At least he has been here to tell it. others have just checked out.

I personally would like to see them come back. I hope you agree with that.

I do appreciate you and i agree that every side of our history needs to be visible. I have ALWAYS said that the UPCI needs both the PAJC and the PCI view. (And this board does too.)
I appreciate your concerns, Ferd. Perhaps I'm just a focal point for some frustrations. But going back just in this thread we see jeering from "3 Steppers" that is unseemly at best. I take it with a grain of salt and try to imagine that folks are just having fun. But others might be coming to the board with their own hurts and be really put off by it.

There is really a large audience that would love to have a board to slap high fives while belittling "trinnies" and those "compromisers" and "liberals." They would really thrive in an environement where they were never challenged. When you do challenge their assertions, suddenly they are supposed to be seen as remarkably "sensitive" and caring individuals who should always remain above criticism.

One minute they're "rough and ready" and the next they're fragile and delicate. Not everyone can ride that kind of emotional roller coaster. Most people don't even want to watch. Yet, from my experience, this would seem to characterize much of the OP movement for at least the length of my life time. We're out there ready to "bust heads" one moment, then when we get our feelings hurt we want everyone to understand that we're really just a bunch of pussycats.

Personally I don't think of myself as a part of any party or group here. In one thread recently I saw a "conservative" poster who is known for being a bit cranky being disparaged as "whiny." Whatever else his temperment may have been, "whiny" just didn't seem to fit at all and I took up for him.

We can and should be respectful at all times. And yet we should also remember that the fine print on our ISP Users Agreement states that this Internet connection exists for "entertainment purposes only." People will inevitably come barreling into a public forum and over turn tables merely for "entertainment purposes."

I sense that there may be some end-of-the-year soul searching behind this thread. That's always going to come up at the end of every year, and often at any date along the way! If there are those who wish to have the "all trinnies are lost" kind of board and not have to put up with me asking about the "Apostolic heritage," then fine. I don't own or possess anything here. In the end I must confess that whatever else I may get from the fellowship, this is really only for "entertainment purposes" as well.
