It is in ours, if the kids have called something by a truly original name, that item is forever labled by the new name.
For instance: Merry Christmas= My cousin would say Carry Mistress when she was little, so within the family, that has been our Christmas greeting for years.
My grandpa bought a new truck when my brother was about 3, and the adults were all talking about the "new" truck. My brother started talking about the "new", so until that truck died many years later, it was called the "new".
I used to call a suitcase, a cuit-sake, and I think my dad still calls it that from time to time.
