Preachers Needing Help!
This is only my observation regarding the way that some in ministry deliver their messages. I have a great respect for Pulpit Ministry but I have little respect for preachers who “belittle” those sitting in the pew. Since when is it ok for ministry to make the members of the church feel that they are “stupid”?
I have heard preachers make the following statements:
“Well I guess I have to say that again since you obviously didn’t understand me.”
“Well, that statement went over your head”
“You need to just, get over it!”
“If you were doing right, then you wouldn’t be where you are or having the trouble that you are having.”
Since when did it become the job of the “preacher” to bring conviction instead of allowing God to bring conviction?
Since when is it ok for the “preacher” to demand a response from the congregation instead of allowing the congregation to respond on their own?
Since when is it ok for the ministry to make fun of the way someone worships, such as, “Is that all you can do, give a little golf clap?”
Again, let me say that I do have great respect for ministry but please, loose the ego, get some training in public speaking, understand that making fun of the people in the pew will only cause you to look bad, remember that a sermon is like a letter, you need a beginning, a middle, and an ending. Last but not least, don’t preach for response. It leaves everyone feeling let down!
I'm so thankful that I have a Pastor who allows God to be God and to do what he needs to do!
