THe only place you will find a direct reference to the sacrifice/shed blood being applied is at baptism as it is referenced as "death."

Repentance is the death.
Water baptism identifies us with Christ's burial.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost brings new life and identifies us with his resurrection.
I believe that the blood is at work throughout the entire new birth experience.... from the first conviction of sin to perfection.
