We also know how the disciples didn't amass wealth and property and infact the early church sold everything they owned to provide for each man according to his need. Remember the parable of the workers in the field? They each recieved what they negociated with the owner for. Some worked for the entire day and some for an hour and each got paid the same.
When the early christians each gave there posessions to the greater cause it was voluntary and not enforced. It was also not for the 'norm' but for a specific need.
