Re: Bro. Wayne Huntley (Info Needed)

Oh my Stars and garters!

I Google my pastors name to see if anything pops up about him from the UPC Youth congress he just preached and lo and behold I see this.

One person innocently asking for info.
A few who actually KNOW something and post it.
A few who know absolutely Nothing..... so they make up something and post it.

No wonder I never could seem to stay around AFF for very long LOL

I am a member of the T.O.P. and Wayne Huntley has been my pastor for 32 years.

We run about 600 in the sanctuary and the 7 active daughter works are running collectively about 400 or so.
The last service we had when all the daughter works came together with us we had about 1500.

The Choir is about 80 members and is accompanied with live band, consisting of 2 keyboards, bass, and lead guitar, drums, bongo's, organ, and of course a tambourine.

Many of the songs are written by Christy (Huntley) Ballestero.
The music ranges from soul stirring, pour your all out to God messages to shout the house down, swinging from the ceiling fan victory praise.

There are also the TOP "Little saints choir" and "Impact" youth choir.

We are very multicultural, and have 8 or so nations represented in the membership. I would say roughly 30 to 40 % of our members are dark skinned.

The former mayor of Raleigh once asked Bro. Huntley on the platform, "How do you manage to have such a diverse and multicultural congregation?"
He replied, "Cause I tell em they are going to hell if they don't" LOL

Preaching style?

Well, you are asking the wrong person with me, cause I already know he is the best in the world. No seriously, listen to "We aint Drunk as we posed to be"
"the Owner has arrived" or many others found here....

The Choir has 2 Cd's out and a sampling of Sis Ballestero's music is on the website as well for you to get a taste.

We are conservative in many ways, but certainly not as much as some.
I will say this, we would not be embarrassed to step into any UPC ALJC AOG church in the country in regards to how we dress or or carry ourselves.

Our music and praise is certainly very lively and not so "conservative".

We have an active Drama ministry as well, having put on productions at the state fair grounds to audiences of over 2400, general conference and youth congress performances as well.

I truly believe we are one of the friendliest churches in Pentecost.

I would LOVE to have your friend come meet my wife and kids, and report back to you what he thought of the church at the TOP.

Our website is....

(wife comment) There's not enough words that can be spoken about Brother Huntley. He is like a spiritual father to us all, he loves everyone that comes within the doors of the church, he treats us all the same and with the same respect as he would treat his own children. He loves souls and will preach what God has laid on his heart. (he's not afraid to step on some toes, but it's all out of love, just as a father would). He's the real deal. He's not fake, he doesn't pretend to be something he's not. He's man enough to admit he's human and he too can make mistakes. He has a great sense of humor for all age groups/gender. He makes church fun!!! There's never a dull moment with Bro.Huntley. I have never known my real father, but out of all the men I've come in contact with through my life, If I had to choose one I would want Brother Huntley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P ENOUGH SAID. GOD BLESS.

That was my wife obviously. LOL
Ive been in this church since I was 2, when bro. Huntley came here.
My wife was won through drama's and a tent revival 12 years ago.
We've been married 8 years. We met in this church.
Honestly, this church and my Pastors are really the only thing that have kept us from moving to mountains and colder, snowier climates long ago.

There is nothing I would want more than for my son and daughter to be raised in this church, serve the lord, and go with him in the rapture.

In THIS church.... MY church!

I know the history of this church, and Bro Huntley.
I grew up with the Godairs kids. most of the hearsay that is so liberally thrown around is so ridiculously off base and inaccurate.

Folks will take 5% truth, and make 95% lie, and tell it like they know what they are talking about.

You've heard the saying, "taste and see that the Lord he is Good."

Well, taste the T.O.P. and let me know what you think.

By all means, have them visit Bro Godairs church in Durham. There are some great people there, and I've always thought highly of Johnny Godair.

I'd really love to hear some feedback on what your friends think of "The TOP."
