ok I'm a bit late with this but did Jesus really say "whale" considering that people did not speak English at that time? I don't think so.
I have heard people say "Peter said Holy Ghost," arguing that "Holy Spirit" is wrong. No, Peter did not say "Holy Ghost;" he did not speak English.

Those who make an issue with whale and fish sound like what I heard one preacher say when he asked if whales were mammals or fish? ...as if the classification is an issue.

Neither Jesus nor Jonah called it a whale.
The KJV translators did.


I had a UPC preacher tell me one time that a ghost is a departed spirit and when Jesus departed He sent back His Spirit so Holy Ghost is preferred over Holy Spirit.
