If you are referring to the "one-stepper" teaching that in salvation the Spirit comes in to dwell and in the Holy Ghost Baptism the Spirit comes upon to empower, you are not stating the teaching correctly.

Also, if the Holy Spirit is Christ in us, why do you refer to Him as "it"?

I don't see that process plainly set out in the scriptures. Two infillings? Sorry, I don't see that.

My "it's" is referring back to the noun (Spirit) in the sentence. It is like saying, "A cow can't jump over the moon it's legs are not strong enough."

I don't make the cow an "it", I refer back to the cow. Pretty simple and no nefarious scheme in that.

lol Yes and even the Bible refers to the SPirit as an it...

1.Romans 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
2.Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
