I think James Durbin is quickly becoming my fav.
Poor Jacob Lusk really disappointed, was he just trying too hard?

There's too many good ones this year. I seriously think the talent, and talent diversity are on of the show's best.
And my list is different if I were just basing off last night's performances alone. Pia absolutely shredded it (though she needs more emotion), Paul McDonald did his thing, Casey Abrams was probably my favorite performer last night, James D. was solid... I actually liked Haley's performance (I like her), and Cowboy Scotty did what he usually does. Stefano proved he is a talent to be reckoned with. I want to see more versatility in some of these guys -- and specifically if they can avoid over singing the song.
Thia Megia had a dangerous performance, but I predict she'll live to see another day -- and rightfully so. I like her. If she fails on AI, the Disney Channel will be scooping her up ASAP. But she desperately needs some enthusiasm and passion in her performances.
Ashton Jones is tough. Great voice, but pitchy problems and she may be in trouble. Our Latina diva hand-picked by J Lo, Karen, will probably be eliminated.
Naima's performance I enjoyed. But because of the talent this year, I just think she may also be on the chopping block.
And Mrs, I completely agree about Lusk, who I really like. He over-sang the song, and the song selection itself wasn't the best.
And, let's judge the judges so far:

there is a real element of honesty missing from the judges table. While no one deserves to be ridiculed, the judges are not doing the contestants any favors by acting like adoring fans. Sometimes, criticisms are hard to hear but wouldn't it be better to be straight with these contestants now, before they jump in with the real sharks?

I think this cast of judges has been refreshing, but the more we are going along, the more we are wanting some substance to come from them, and not really getting much. Thank God for Randy...
With that... my top 3:
Casey Abrams
Pia Toscano
Paul McDonald
Right on their heels:
James Durban
And the ever-charming Lauren Alaina
