So you think I'm being mean to Coadie? You too?

Oh please... the guy has bad-mouthed the poor this entire thread... I've confronted that ugliness. And perhaps have done so imperfectly, but that attitude needs to clearly be confronted. Unfortunately, Coadie speaks for many of you more than his worldly perspective crosses you.

I will consider putting the coadster on ignore going forward.

No, my comment had nothing to do with you giys but just adding to your comment about how we perceive salvation can determine how we treat others. Kinda like we may have a problem with love because we lack the revelation of Gods great love.

We baptized a young man I had in a bible study 3 years ago and baptised him last month. His mom is always broke. She has 3 kids, never been married and all 3 have different dads. We are baptizing granny this month. Some of the family is in and out of jail. One of the cousins is on dope and lost custody of her 4 daughters we take to church. (4 dads)

But I am bad to the bone because They are broke and the gubment can't fix their problems. Only Jesus can.

I have been told I may miss the pearly gates because i don't believe the Gubment can save these folks.

Some will think those who don't believe in GOV programs are unkind or uncaring, just they way it rolls.

You're buying into his perceived hogwash too. Amazing!!

You really think because of Coadie's perspective of government role with the poor, that I think he's a sinner?

Give me a break... I'm tired of repeating myself on that issue... wish you guys would read.

Not sure how you got all that from my post. Seems to me your getting a little to vested here.

I was raised on a Mennonite farm, All the Mennonite farming communities were visited by the cannery. We got together, slaughtered beef in the winter, canned it and shipped it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpsrSV3s9aQ

This past year MCC shipped more than 956,000 pounds of turkey, pork and beef for people in 15 countries, including Canada and the United States.

The protein is shipping pre paid and delivered so we know it feeds the intended poor.

Coadie, though no longer Mennonite I still attend the local MCC fund-raisers and still donate.

Growing up we would donate a beef or other animal when they brought the canner in. The irony is, even though we were well below the poverty line ourselves we would never miss the canning days. One of the best things the poor can do is give their time and resources for those less forfunate. It helps keep things in perpsective. Most recently the gubment has outlawed the use of portable canners in our state and they are now doing auctions to raise funds so the canning can be done at other locations.
