I have no idea why he doesn't, BT, and I don't care. If the state of Hawaii issued him an official birth certificate, that's good enough for me, and the newspaper announcement seals the deal. In fact, I find the latter to be better evidence than the state sealed certificate. Unless better evidence to the contrary comes to light, I think this is a crazy issue in which to invest a lot of time and energy.

Well, by "I don't care", I mean that I don't think it's significant enough to matter. He may have reasons--and he may not have the original certificate. Again, even if that's true, it doesn't prove anything, as I'm quite positive that many, many Americans don't have their "original long forms." He may have simply been advised against it. He may think that saying he lacks the original form would incite the birther movement into a frenzy, and it's already pretty frantic.

In what way do you think it's significant? What do you think that says? Let's say you're right, and he's hiding the fact that he doesn't have the original form. He was still issued an official birth certificate by the state of Hawaii, and that makes it as good as mine or yours, legally speaking.

I'm really not into arguing all of the questions that are out there. But let me say this, the certificate that someone posted is not an original, has no signatures of doctors and can be forged by any numbers of individuals. I really don't care whether it's legal or not. I just want to know why Obama is allowed to be so arrogant in refusing to show or tell why he won't show what America has the right to see. If they put it in the constitution why shouldn't it be provable?

My Birth Certificate doesn't have any signatures on it. I posted it a while back. It looks just like Obama's but it's from a different state and obviously, has different info on it.

The burden is upon you. Prove that the Obama campaign has forged this document. There's a Pulitzer waiting for you if you can do so.

Pel... I'm through. What little brain I have is tired. I didn't say I knew that the BC he presented was legal or not.... in fact here's what I said.... "I really don't care whether it's legal or not. Just what is it that "America has a right to see" if not this document that we're looking at right now? Fact of the matter is, "America" doesn't even "have the right to see" this document.

Only the Secretary of State in the various states where the candidate is running in a primary has "the right" or even the need to view the birth certificate.

As for the Constitution, that's the rub, ain't it? Just what President or candidate for President has ever "proved" that they were natural born Americans? Did Washington? Did Lincoln? Everyone just takes it for granted that Lincoln was born in that log cabin outside Hodgenville, Kentucky, but can anybody actually "prove" it?

It could be that I don't lurk around bulletin boards 24/7 and Been Thunkin' was just overwhelmed by the coadie/canam spirit of schtoopid so badly that he couldn't be a gentleman and wait at least 24 hours for a response.

And so, these einsteins deceive themselves into thinking they've got a point... a point that Been Thinking practically begged me to ignore because... well, because their points turned out to have been either a joke or an April Fools gag.
