Re: Chiropractors

Thanks guys and gals!

What about a good aged whiskey? Is that an anti-inflammatory?

Re: Chiropractors

I have seen chiropractors off and on for 15 years. I have had great results when the doctors just shrugged. My opinion? See a chiropractor for adjustments and ask about some supplements to help deal with inflammation and maybe a little arthritis. Glucosamine/Chondroitin really helps my husband with his hips/knees (touch of arthritis there) and I say chuck the Aleeve and other NSAIDS and use some natural anti-inflammatory stuff like Bromelain or get some Wobenzym N, which is pricey but is great stuff. Hope you get some relief. I had a neighbor who had back surgery and now had to quit his job and lives on pain meds. I've kind of wondered if that was because he likes pain meds a lot, but I have heard of this kind of thing before. I would personally do everything else first before I subjected myself to that.

Re: Chiropractors

My mother has scoliosis and sees her Chiropractor about once a week, or more often if needed. It does a lot to relieve her back pain. All her regular doctor does is give her more pain meds.

Chiropractors aren't terribly expensive, so you won't be risking too much in giving it a try. I would go for the old fashioned back-adjustment and massage guys, and skip the shock therapy and those who think they can cure every disease by aligning your spine. Also, make appointments with several different chiropractors and find the one you like before you settle into a treatment schedule.

Very good advice and if your insurance does not cover it, tell the Doctor of Chiropractic and they usually have one price for the insurance claims and another price if you are paying cash. I have paid around $25 a visit.

My Chiropractor is $50 per visit, which does include the acupuncture. I enjoy that so much that I would want to have that included.
