My mother has scoliosis and sees her Chiropractor about once a week, or more often if needed. It does a lot to relieve her back pain. All her regular doctor does is give her more pain meds.
Chiropractors aren't terribly expensive, so you won't be risking too much in giving it a try. I would go for the old fashioned back-adjustment and massage guys, and skip the shock therapy and those who think they can cure every disease by aligning your spine.  Also, make appointments with several different chiropractors and find the one you like before you settle into a treatment schedule.
