If you use electricity or gas you are in violation of this passage. You before you preach it you must practice it.
Wrong. Now you're telling a lie Bro. Epley. The Law of Moses condemns fire in one's dwelling on the Sabbath, NOT the Ten Commandments. That handwriting of ordinances was nailed to the cross. The Ten Commandments still stand. The following is ALL that is said about the Sabbath in the Fourth Commandment, and therefore, the following is all that is binding:
Exodus 20:8-11 (ESV)
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
-We must REMEMBER the Sabbath day.
-We must make it holy, a time to worship.
-We must rest from working and refresh, celebrating life and all of creation.
-The entire family is to participate.
You don't know the difference between the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses! You must distinguish between the two if you want to know God's will.
Jesus said,
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Heaven and earth are still standing... the Law of God (the Ten Commandments) still STAND!
John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
If you love Jesus, KEEP the commandments.
John said,
1 John 2:3
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 3:24
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 5:2
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2 John 1:6
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
And finally.....
Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Repent Bro. Epley.
Before you post these passages you must obey them. The man was stoned for picking up sticks on the sabbath GOD told them to! But Aquilla runs his heat and air, dare say drives his car, watches his ungodly television, surfs the internet, etc. Aquilla doesn't keep the sabbath day anymore than I do.

So you don't keep the 4th commandment? And it's OK? Are any of the other 9 rescinded, too?

Those restrictions were only in the Law of Moses. They are NOT in the Ten Commandments. You're trying to deceive your readers Bro. Epley. The Fourth Commandment simply states:
Exodus 20:8-11 (ESV)
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. I'll mail you $100 dollars IF you can find a restriction about sticks or fire in the Fourth Commandment!
All that the Fourth Commandment asks is the following:
-We must REMEMBER the Sabbath day.
-We must make it holy, a time to worship.
-We must rest from working and refresh, celebrating life and all of creation.
-The entire family is to participate.
No restrictions on fire or sticks, Bro. Epley.
HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD:

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
What are the Lord's Commandments?
Loving God with all our hearts by remembering:
I
Thou shalt have no other gods before Me
II
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
III
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord
thy God in vain, for the Lord will not
hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain
IV
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
And we love our neighbor as ourselves by remembering:
V
Honor thy father and thy mother,
that thy days may be long upon the land
which the Lord thy God giveth thee
VI
Thou shalt not murder
VII
Thou shalt not commit adultery
VIII
Thou shalt not steal
IX
Thou shalt not bear false witness
against thy neighbor
X
Thou shalt not cove
So stop with the sticks and fire speech. Find it in the Ten Commandments or repent.

Tis YOU making the distinctions NOT God. God told Moses to stone the man.
My question to you when Jesus or Paul quoted the 10 commandments why did they never include the 4th?
From Adam til Exo. 16 there is no record where ONE person kept the sabbath day! The commandment was for Isreal exclusively and was fulfilled in Christ who is our rest.
Tis YOU making the distinctions NOT God. God told Moses to stone the man.
Oh, dearest Bro. Epley. The Catholics have blinded you.
The Law of Moses was a binding aspect of the Old Covenant. Of course God told Moses to have the man stoned. But it the Law of Moses isn't binding today. That doesnt mean that we throw out the Ten Commandments, they are the Law of God, not Moses. Regarding the Law of God, Jesus said,
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Is the "heaven and earth" still standing Bro. Epley???
Quote:

This is because there was no controversy about the Sabbath until the Catholic Church changed the Sabbath to Sunday and condemned all Christians who still kept the Sabbath. Read what the NT says about the Sabbath and Christians:
Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day [seventh day], and sat down.
Acts 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath [seventh day].
Acts 13:44And the next sabbath day [seventh day] came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
Acts 16:13 And on the sabbath [seventh day] we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spoke unto the women which resorted thither.
Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days [seventh day] reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath [seventh day], and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
Hebrews 4:4 For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Hebrews 4:9 NIRV So there is still a Sabbath rest [seventh day] for God's people.
Quote:

Ah... but we read long before Moses:
Genesis 26:5
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Joseph knew adultery was sin... remember Potifer's wife? Clearly they knew God's laws. Lastly, the Sabbath was ordained at CREATION:
Genesis 2:
2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
God blessed and sanctified the seventh day at Creation Bro. Epley. When something is sanctified... it's made sacred. The seventh day has been sacred since creation.
Does anyone know of a trinitarian group which preaches the perverted gospel of denying medical attention to onesself, or your children, in order to please God? You know, the kind of teaching which results in the death of innocent infants, children, women and men who follow the ignorant man who teaches that God isn't pleased, and it might even be a sin, to seek medical attention?
I know of so-called, -self-proclaimed 'apostolics' who preach that very thing. I can take you to the graves of the little children who died under such perverted leadership.
Do we have any 'apostolic' ministers here who have participated and preached in such an perverted religious environment?

How does the Bible distinguish between the Law of God and the Law of Moses? The laws in Leviticus were given to Moses by God. Do you avoid shellfish?

How does the Bible distinguish between the Law of God and the Law of Moses?
Very IMPORTANT question:
The Law of Moses
Called "the law of Moses"
LUKE 2:22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord.
Called "Law contained in ordinances"
EPH. 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.
Written by Moses in a book
2 CHRON. 35:12 And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
Placed in the side of the ark
DEUT. 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
Ended at the cross
EPH. 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.
Added because of sin
GAL. 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Contrary to us, against us
COL. 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.
Judges no man
COL. 2:14-16 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Carnal
HEB. 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Made nothing perfect
HEB. 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
And now consider the Law of God (the Ten Commandments):
The Law of God (Ten Commandments)
Called "the Law of the Lord"
ISA. 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Called "the Royal law"
JAMES 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Written by God on stone
EXO. 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
EXO. 32:16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.
Placed inside the ark
EXO. 40:20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
Will stand forever
LUKE 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Points out sin
ROM. 7:7 What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
ROM. 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Not grievous
1 JOHN 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Judges all men
JAM. 2:10-12 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Spiritual
ROM. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Perfect
PSALMS 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
One of the greatest challenges of a Christian is to distinguish between the Law of Moses and the Law of God when reading about a Christian's relationship to the Law in the NT. The Law of Moses was nailed to the cross not the Law of God (Ten Commandments). The Ten Commandments still stand:
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Quote:
The laws in Leviticus were given to Moses by God. Do you avoid shellfish?
Yes, God inspired Moses to write those laws, and they are the Law of Moses. However, God Himself wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger, twice. Also, the Ten Commandments existed in Heaven long before Sinai... the Law of Moses didn't.
So no, I don't avoid shellfish. That prohibition ISN'T in the Ten Commandments. Yummy! lol
Called "the law of Moses"

Yummy! lol
Thanks. Not 100% sure that all of those can be determined with certainty to distinguish, but, well, maybe I'll take your word for it.
Interesting, isn't it? Aquila thinks all ten of The Ten and none of the other stuff need to be kept, and Epley thinks only nine of The Ten and some of the other stuff need to be kept.
