I took a couple of ibuprofen this morning -it helped a little, it sure made my headache go away! But the wrist is still hurting.

I am waiting on this to strike me as I have the same work requirments as you. Have you tried one of those gel pads that you put in front of your keyboard for your wrist to rest on? It eases my pain at times.

Taking the ibuprofen on a daily regular basis for two weeks are standard instructions most docs give you when treating carpal tunnel. And using a wrist splint. Those are the conservative avenues of treatment. If after two weeks of trying a wrist splint or night brace, and the anti-inflammatories, and you are no better, it is probably wise to seek out a physician's care.

I'm already being told surgery is my only option. As if the pain in my hand isn't enough. LOL

Actually my mother in law and my aunt have had this surgery. It is fairly simple with a short recovery. They both have been pain free since.

Yeah that hurts more than the surgery and the pain lasts longer too.

I've just recently had this start happening...not so much when I'm typing, but sharp pains in my right hand when I'm playing the organ at church. It must be the angle of my right hand when I'm reaching to the upper keyboard.

Hopefully a brace will help and you won't have to do the surgery, but I know several people who have had it done and it was a short recovery time. Do you know how much it would cost?
