Angela Corey, the special prosecutor investigating the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, is scheduled to hold a 6 p.m. EDT press conference in Jacksonville, Fla., on Wednesday, where she is expected to charge George Zimmerman in the 17-year-old's killing.
According to the Associated Press, Zimmerman will be charged with 2nd-degree murder. Corey's office confirmed the press conference but did not elaborate on the details. According to the AP, Zimmerman is in custody. According to CNN, he turned himself in.
I wonder if his attorneys knew this was coming yesterday?

Strange that one Florida DA, no billed Zimmerman and special prosecutor comes out with 2nd degree, not manslaugther or not third degree, but the highest possible charge under the circumstances. That is a wide gap of opinion. (Public pressure??)
So, let's now see the evidence in court and see if they can prove it. If so, George is in deep trouble. Let's also see if Holder piles on with a federal hate crime charge.

I don't think the DA waited for all the evidence, or even the autopsy to be finished.

When he initially called 911, he said Martin was in a public area...near the clubhouse I believe. They didn't end up between the buildings until he ran away from the truck following him.
Do you want any strange man doing that to your child?
My child is not a white girl, so what do you propose I tell him to do when he is walking from the store, a strange man begins to follow him, then chase him when he tries to run away from him?
And anybody who objectively listens to the 911 call can tell clearly that the operator is telling him he shouldn't follow.
If Trayvon did not confront and attack George, then George is in big trouble. If Trayvon did confront and attack George, George is aquitted, that is what it all boils down to. Neither, broke the law until the confrontation, who confronted who is the question, who attacked who? I find it very difficult to believe that George "hunted Trayvon and shot him like a dog", but if he did he is going down to the big house.
With all the public and media pressure, I would not want to be George. He better have a very clear defense, and a very fair jury.

7 does seem much earlier than I had imagined it happened.
Now that it goes to trial I have a couple more questions. First, is it even possible after all this media mess for Zimmerman to get a fair and unbiased trial by jury? Do you really believe a jury of his peers can "wipe the slate" of all the junk they have been fed for the past couple weeks and judge him based only on what is revealed at the trial?
Second, Does anyone feel like I do that this special prosecuter went for murder only because she wants to appease the angry masses? Involuntary Manslaughter I can buy. That could stick even if Zimmerman really never intended for anytihgn to happen at all and the shooting was an accident. Yet this woman jumps all the way up to a murder charge? Me thinks she is looking for some political points and wants to please Obama and the race baiters.
It will be interesting to see how they come up with a jury for this case if it get that far given so many people know so much about it from the news media. I don't think the will do bail on him, just for the simple fact he is safer in jail right now.

Eric Holder is black. The Black Panthers are...well..black. Obama needs there to be unification or solidarity among the black voting block in order fo rhim to win. He needs them to be motivated to go out in force as they did last election so that he can win again. So Holder was likely told in no uncertain terms to do NOTHING that might make black voters upset with Obama or his administration. Hence, the Panthers can place a bounty on a man's head and not even get a response from the POTUS or the AG.
Had a group like the KKK come forward and put a bounty on Zimmermans head, Holder and Obama would be tripping over themselves trying to be the first to make a statement or get charges against the KKK.
