Jesus looks at sinners with eyes of love. He does not however want them to live in sin, he wants to deliver them from it.
On the other hand, the enemy looks at sinners with eyes of pride. He wants to keep them in sin, so he can show God that he is more powerful. And he does this with lies. Just as he lied to Eve, he continues to lie to all humanity. You shall not surely die! Go ahead taste the forbidden fruit, you will become as gods knowing good and evil.
Sin is death.
And hating others is a sin.
