Re: California vacation

If you are a conservative I highly recommend visiting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in the Simi Valley about 45 minutes out from Burbank / Hollywood. It is first class with a lot of interactive multimedia presentations walking you through RR's life and Presidency and a few years ago they added the old Boeing 707 Air Force One that RR and other Presidents used for many years until it was replaced by the 747 that George Bush Sr. used.

If anybody in your family is a car buff I also highly recommend the Peterson Car Museum in LA.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

We've been to several presidential libraries, including Rheagan's....but our favorite, so far, is the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA. Also, the Sequoia Nation Forest is a great place to visit.

I love the drive from LA to San Diego on the PCH! And don't forget to visit San Juan Capistrano Mission.

Maybe I can talk her into San Diego. The Mission and Sea World would be fun. The segment of the PCH I was thinking of was in a National Geographic article. It runs from Morro Bay to Monterrey.

Is Hearst Mansion worth going to?

Or the Wine Train?

Hearst Castle is spendy, but I think it is worth it, just visited again a few months back. Make sure and take the time to walk around the grounds after the tour.

Thanks for the suggestions but I don't think either of us are interested in politics or cars.
