Re: TD Jakes echurch
Jakes used to be Apostolic.
His church still baptizes in the name of Jesus Christ but he no longer teaches oneness by his own admission and I don't think he ever taught the necessity of baptism. He's been a one-stepper since I can remember, he wasn't always as compromising and liberal as he is now though. Neither were the Brady's for that matter.

No harm in having a listen if there is not something else you could be DOING for the Kingdom with the time... But I would not support a ministry that only exists to create power and money. JMVHO

like tbf says, td jakes is a one step apostolic. he has not embraced the trinity but has a more nuanced view of oneness by acknowledging a distinction in the modes of the godhead which in my opinion is the way it should be. no sense in alienating trinitarians with dogmatic jesus is the father when you can be more nuanced and win more trinitarians to your ministry. godhead isn't even a salvation issue imho.

Oneness people don't even agree among ourselves on stuff like manifestations, offices, personas, personalities, masks, persons, etc. Why go through all this godhead gobbledy gook? Lots of people, trinity and oneness, believe that the God of the Old Testament came to earth in Jesus and that Jesus lives in us as the Holy Spirit.

i would venture to say that td jakes ministry has baptized more people in jesus name than any other apostolic in the history of christianity. he has the biggest apostolic church in history. he is the most effective apostolic minister in the history of christianity outside of paul. i think a case can be made. any challengers?

Last I knew he would not even confess he was Oneness. Last clip I saw of him he would not even say "gay" was a sin. Far from Apostolic Christianity. As far as I know he teaches NOTHING in the way of true foundation doctrine except he might still baptize in Jesus name.
Oh and anybody can preach "hot sermons". Nothing about TD has ever impressed me.
