not arguing, just showing that there are differences of opinion on this among Christians.

Mens opinions are divisive. The word itself is what matters.
The day of Christ is the same thing as the day of the Lord. If it read the day of the Lord it would still be talking about the coming of Jesus.
Note that Peter and Paul both describe the coming of the Lord as the rapture by saying it comes as a thief in the night.
Paul
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye haveno need that I write unto you.2For yourselves know perfectly that the
day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1 Thess 5:1-2
Peter
10But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat , the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Peter 3:10
So it makes no difference between the day of Christ or the day of the Lord.
Jesus is BOTH Lord and Christ.
36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified ,
both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36
