to all those of you who are against this secession. I am not for or against. I have and always will believe that there can be no USA in the time of anti-christ.

Not sure what the legalities are cause since the Civil War it has never went that far. I would think it would have to be put to vote within the state and pass a vote in the local government.

That would be the difficult part, though I believe Texas would be the first to pull it off.

My understanding was Texas is the only state that put that option in when they joined.

I thought if Texas wants out the state only has to decide (not sure how) not required to have consent from USA.

The US Constitution is silent on the issue of secession. There is no provision in the Texas Constitution (current or former) that reserves the right of secession, but it does state that "Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States" ... not to the President of the US or even the Congress of the US.

Whether one was in favor of the North or the South, all that war actually "proved" is that a state or group of states can be militarily forced to continue being a part of a group.
