New Muslim baby names......

Less than a week after the declaration of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Operation Pillar of Defense has already left its mark on the people of Gaza, in a rather unexpected way.

Some parents from the Strip have decided to name their newborn babies after operation-affiliated icons – from assassinated Hamas commanders to long-range missiles fired at Israel.

Muhammad al-Shafi’i Abu Nassat named his son, born Friday (23rd), after the Fajr missile. He said this was his way of thanking Iran for sending the rockets to fire at Israel. One mother named her baby Fajr even before her son was born. She said with the name Fajr, the new baby will “grow up and be able to help free Palestine from the occupation.”

Adham Murtaja, of Gaza City named his newborn son Ahmed Jabari, after the Hamas chief who was killed at the onset of Operation Pillar of Defense. Murtaja said he decided to name his child Ahmed Jabari to prove to Israel that the assassination of Jabari did not mean that the Palestinian nation stopped producing heroes.

Re: New Muslim baby names......

Congratulations. Your ignorance has reached a new bottom. Here's your trophy

My secretary is named after the Fajr missle.

The morning prayer (Fajr prayer) meaning dawn prayer is also named after the Fajr missle. And that was hundreds of years before Iran was a Muslim country.

Fajr is a popular name. As is Dawn.

"As a baby boy name, Jabari is currently a popular baby name, with a recent overall USA popularity ranking of 664 out of 1000 (source: 2000s U.S. Census).

In 2009, the name Jabari fell in popularity and moved down the USA Top 1000 charts in Year 2009, by 106 places. For the Year 2009, it ranked 876 in the Top 1000 charts"
