Do you believe that's the important part? "In Jesus' name?" Or, if as you say, there are several different baptismal formulas (within the oneness movement), which one do you believe is correct?
when I said that there is no single/one UPCI teaching on water baptism I meant two things:
1. not every UPCI person believes sins are not washed away until a person has been baptized in water with the "correct" formula or words spoken.
2. There is disagreement over the proper "formula" or "incantation"

1. There are still people in the UPC who believe sins are forgiven/remitted/washed away prior to water baptism.
There are people in the UPC that believe sins are forgiven at repentance but not remitted or washed away until water baptism.
There are people in the UPC that believe that a person's sins are not remitted until water baptism is done "properly" and the person has spoken with tongues.

2. Some teach a "triune" name for a "triune" God. Some teach that "Lord" is the name of the Father; "Jesus" is the name of the Son; "Christ" is the name of the Holy Ghost and therefore unless the triune name "Lord Jesus Christ" is spoken/incanted over a person at baptism, not all three facets/manifestations/offices/etc are honored equally and the baptism is not valid.

I have never ever heard this from anyone but you. I doubt that there are any respectable men in the UPCI or any Apostolic organization that teach this.

Well folks this is NOT something Bro. Sam made up. Some years ago I had a member of the church I pastored that cornered me one day concerning baptism. Most of the time when I baptized back then I used "In the Name of Jesus Christ" in the baptismal statement, but on this particular day I had said "in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ." He told me that he had a book supposedly written by an observer at the PCI/PAJC merger meetings which stated that the leaders had come to an impasse on what needed to be said in baptism. Some supposedly felt that they needed a "formula" that would suffice for the trinitarians. The writer stated that W.T. Witherspoon got up and left the room for a period of time and when he returned he said if we use Lord Jesus Christ the trinitarians will be satisfied. Lord for father, Jesus for the son, and Christ for the Holy Ghost.

I asked the brother to bring me the book and he stated that he had searched for it but had lost it. He was a man that I have NEVER questioned concerning honesty/integrity........so I don't doubt that he read this account in a book. However, what I doubt is the veracity of the report, as my mother was saved under W.T Witherspoon's ministry and I have read handwritten letters that he wrote to my mother on the importance of true Bible salvation which he firmly believed and taught as death (repentance), burial (baptism), and the infilling of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking with tongues (resurrection).
