1. There are still people in the UPC who believe sins are forgiven/remitted/washed away prior to water baptism.
There are people in the UPC that believe sins are forgiven at repentance but not remitted or washed away until water baptism.
There are people in the UPC that believe that a person's sins are not remitted until water baptism is done "properly" and the person has spoken with tongues.
2. Some teach a "triune" name for a "triune" God. Some teach that "Lord" is the name of the Father; "Jesus" is the name of the Son; "Christ" is the name of the Holy Ghost and therefore unless the triune name "Lord Jesus Christ" is spoken/incanted over a person at baptism, not all three facets/manifestations/offices/etc are honored equally and the baptism is not valid.
