Re: Parents Consent To Baptize Children

Could it be that young people were more mature in the 30's? With society the way it is now, that is.

I'm not nearly old enough to have seen the 30's, so I'm merely asking.

Neither am I, Farfel. But I'm sure you're right. People were expected to act like adults at a much younger age in prior generations. And there was more family and community support for those who were raising kids, whatever their age, I suspect.

you obviously have not visited a high school recently.
Since we kicked God out of the schools, the devil has had free reign in there.
You are assuming a lot. I have a fourteen year old son who attends a public high school. We moved to a different area to give our kids the opportunity to go to a school where gangs aren't making their life a fearful existence. I think teenagers can make good choices. I have hope for their generation.

We didn't start the fire. It was always burning since the world was turning. . . .

We didn't light it, but we tried to fight it.

I'm even too young to remember when the things mentioned in that song happened.

Criminals would come to town,
Fearless Fife tracks 'em down,
His eye would pop,
His gun would drop,
He's my favorite TV cop

We love Barney Fife...
He's the Deputy of Mayberry
We love Barney Fife...
He upholds the law with Opie's pa

Floyd the barber cuttin' hair,
Howard Sprague,
Barber chair,
Barney's job is never done,
Law and order's in his blood,
His shaky gun is at your service,
Catchin' crooks makes him nervous,
Thelma Lou's official stud,
Nip it
Nip it in the bud
(This is Deputy Fife speakin'
And I'm armed!!!)

Andy plays the guitar,
Barney's in the squad car,
Driving Mayberry nuts,
He's law enforcement klutz

Ticket writing everyone,
He's got one bullet for his gun,
Bad guys are on the run,
Book 'em Barney
Murder one!

We love Barney Fife...
He's the Deputy of Mayberry...
Andy Griffith is our life
(Yeah yeah yeah),
When the show is done
We'll watch another one
(Re-run, re-run, re-run)
WE LOVE BARNEY FIFE!

Thank you~ Totally agree!! Some teenagers are not as responsible as the next....but some are VERY mature and responsible. I was 16 when I had my daughter and 17 when I had my son...married and very mature minded and always made the right and correct choices for my babies!!! Just because I was a teen mom did not mean I could not and did not make the right choice for my children as some would like to have thought.

Exactly, Godzchild! Congratulations on being a great mother. Contrary to popular belief, there are many fantastic young parents. And some incredible teenagers with a strong calling of God on their life. "Honour your father and your mother" is a bible verse that applies to many aspects of this discussion, and I believe that God still knows what he's doing. I love what Miss Brattified said about praying and fasting for the whole family. Maybe there is a David out in the fields minding the sheep that belongs to that family.
