We were talking about the Vatican having a vast library of ancient writings..

The RCC has massive amounts of information some of it public and some of it hidden away in the vatican libraries.

The main problem with most of the public books is that many of them have been edited and changed throughout the centuries, mostly to fit Catholic doctrine.

Well I was in the vatican and I do know they have a huge library, but I was not allowed to go there, for I believe (Maybe I am mistaken) that library is reserved for only members of the priesthood.
If you ever go to the vatican, you will see that visitors are only allowed to see a few areas, the rest are off limits.
