Re: Question: Why Isn't Salvation Intuitive?

Don't THEY also say theirs is the only true recipe?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

True! A thousand different recipes and each thinks its the only true recipe. There's an ingredient of truth in each recipe. My point is that maybe the real true recipe is part of the vast majority of recipes. Maybe it's mistaken for an ingredient when it's actually the recipe!

To make matters worse, there are hundreds of views just on what ONENESS is -and many believe THEIR view of "oneness" is a requirement to enter the pearly gates.

Shoot, discussing Dialectical-Materialism analogies discovered in obscure pointillism artwork of artist Thaddeus Welch and how it relates to modern societal movements toward collectivism in a post-communist industrial economic systems, makes more sense to me than some of these "oneness" discussions!

That is SO unfair, Timmy! Rather, all ya have to do is to guess right (or more accurately, to correctly interpret) AND have a scripture or two or three to plausibly back up your "correct" interpretation. And everyone should realize how difficult a thing that is to accomplish.

I don't think there are hundreds. And what many fail to realize is having a different explanation for HOW something is is not a variation on the theology but HOW to explain the theology.
