Enlightened as to what?

Coming to this forum is like reading letters from a cousin's dysfunctional family. I check in every once in a while to see what the %#! is going on!

If we all thought alike, every lady here may want my husband. I wouldn't appreciate that, because in January, we well have made it to 50 years together.
If it was "Apostolic Only Forum", Id agree.

the name was chosen way way back by a group of people who wanted to create a forum for Apostolics and their Friends (former Apostolics)

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Apostolic Friends Forum

I have no problem with the name of this forum. Good name. Why? In my experience, Apostolic has various interpretations, and we should have a common place for us to discuss, and encourage. So, who cares if some do not want the name to be what it is? If you are not happy with it, and please take this in love, buy some hosting, buy the forum software, and start your own forum.

Ha ha ha Some have tried to do that, but were not able to attract much of an audience.

I think it is because they created those forums as their own personal soapbox, they would preach what they wanted to preach and because they resented anyone contradicted them they soon started banning people, eventually no one came to those forums anymore. The internet is littered with many abandoned forums that only their owners sometimes visit.

I myself have visited some of those forums and noticed that few people ever visit those forums and it is mostly the owners trying to somehow keep it alive.

We both go to the Apostolic Church KBTW. We moved, leaving the Baptist Church and began attending a UPC of my husbands youth and have been going for about 20 years now. Thank's for asking.
