I'm sure you're right about that. I remember one pastor's kids (pastor who no longer fellowships us) who were the worst snobs I'd ever seen in my life. When I first got into the church, some of that just floored me...I thought...this is supposed to be the Church!!!

Yep, I've been 'blessed' with the same treatment. IF it is the same fellow that I think it is, I get the same reaction from the folks in his church if they happen to run into us at WalMart (and I promise I have never, EVER gone to the store in my shorts and tank top and flip flops!!!)

I think some conservative churches are very tight knit. I am not just talking about family members but church members. I know of one particular church that won't fellowship but with a few churches. They won't even allow their young people to go to a upc youth camp. They strictly have their own camp. And if you don't believe exactly the way they do you are disfellowshipped. There was a lady that went to that church that disagreed with one of their rules. Not a heaven or hell issue just simply a rule. They let her know she was more that welcome to leave. And she did. Now they won't even speak to her should they see her. Makes me wonder if God is going to give them their special place in heaven.

I agree. But it puzzles me. How do they think they are going to win souls to God with that attitude.

Yep, same folks. Pretty sad (and, just for the record I don't own any shorts, tank tops, or flip flops so I most obviously would not ever be wearing them out anywhere! oloroid That would frighten most anybody!)
