You are not supposed to be offended and no offense towards you was intended. An admission of humor at your expense is due you and is now considered paid.

Explanation: Your "sir" appears not to be a "sir" but a "ma'am".

The quote was an earlier post from your "sir" and a reference to her husband. Hence the "chuck"le at a polite (but definitely unintended) and minor (however extremely critical) oops on your part.
