That is the whole point! The emphasis people put on long hair is equivalent to a heaven or hell issue. And that is what is being resisted. I do not want my wife to have short hair. She never will have it. But I do not think it is heaven or hell to emphasize it to such a degree that some people do. Some people here only stress it the way they do because they think IT IS Heaven or hell.

That is the whole point! Exactly. Do it to please God. But get the heaven or hell attitude out of the picture.

Not every issue in my marriage is a "divorce or stay married" issue.

But I like pleasing my wife, and being happily married.

I could track mud all over the living room floor, and probably not get immediately served with divorce papers.

But if I have an attitude of just doing whatever I want without regard to her preferences and wishes, the relationship is surely going to dteriorate.

I doubt VERY MUCH the relationship with God deteriorates due to HAIR. He is not THAT concerned, brother, that a relationship with Him will surely deteriorate over it. Come on. That's just an excuse to still enforce it as though one DID propose it is heaven or hell, for it is hell if a relationship SURELY deteriorates over it. You are saying it is not heaven or hell in one breath and then saying it will cause one's relationship with God to SURELY deteriorate in another breath. What real difference is that?
