No, he hasn't. That's a misconception. Not voting for Trump does not equal voting for Hillary. A vote must be cast for someone to actually be for someone. One could as easily (and incorrectly) claim that not voting for Hillary equals voting for Trump. Both are incorrect, unless you're trying to apply common core logic to the voting process, which still is incorrect.

No, he did not get in by one vote. W lost the popular vote by over 500,000 votes (533,895); however, due to how the process is actually played, he won five more electoral votes. Electoral votes are not popular votes.

I'm not American, but I would! But that's no excuse to not vote.

That is the one you should vote for, and forget the "principled," not voting for either as they are both not good enough, as I am sure in most cases, that is just a vote cast knowing the person one voted for will give you the ability to say, "I didn't vote for him/her" and can then appear to take the high road.

I've gone through all that and voted 3rd party on more than one occasion for much the same reasons as I've seen on this thread, but it really doesn't help anyone and quite frankly, is a bit selfish.
The dangerous territory that the country is in right now is that this election is not about Trump and his qualities, but that he is not Hillary.

Is this because there have been so many years of Democratic rule in Washington forced on the Republicans that we can now abandon the idea that character actually matters anymore? This will only get us the worst politicians being elected into office holding great and real power. More people should have stood up and said – NO! - to both candidates.

I remember several people on this very forum, not mentioning names, who railed against Newt Gingrich on being divorced when he ran for POTUS. "We can’t have that in the Republican Party!!! No way, no how!!! ADULTERER!!"

Now we have a bombastic, thrice married adulterer, who watches porn with his current wife (who has porn photoshoots herself), curses on the stump, says he would probably be dating his daughter if she wasn’t his daughter and all manner of stuff that appeals to the reality television crowd.

Don’t be surprised if Kayne West doesn’t run the next time around – Trump has now set the stage for anyone to run – character is not important.

That’s the state of our country. So, don’t blame anyone for feeling so repulsed that they can’t, with good conscience, vote for these people. And don’t ever think that every American does not have the personal right of choice on who to vote for, whether the top two on the ticket or a write in or possibly to abstain from voting altogether. It’s a personal choice and should be respected, whether you or I like it or not.

Does "fear" figure into your interjecting your thoughts on American politics?

Fear I experience, or fear in what I see in the US?

We in Canada have some of it, too, since our culture is copying the US so much, but propaganda seems to go hog-wild in the US. Blatant distortion and lies are in a flurry through absolutely biased media. One thing is sure, no one is as bad as what media is making both sides out to be.

Trump isn't as bad as his words show him to be? Okay.

You just did what media does. lol. Albeit unintentionally.

I never said that. lol. I said, no one is as bad as MEDIA is making them out to be. Media also retranslates what someone actually says. I saw a video of Trump allegedly putting down a woman, and it was not that way at all when hearing his actual words aside from media's interpretation.

He has a reputation that is all his. I've read his tweets. The media can't distort that. And I have NEVER liked Donald J. Trump even before this election cycle. I did like how he hit the political correctness, in the beginning, but he got deep in the weeds with it and just became offensive.

Yes

Though I interpret it as a judgment upon our nation, not something to celebrate.
