He lost me in the republican primaries and never won me back. He only alienated me more by his obtuse profane conduct, lies, phony Christianity (see statement "The IRS is auditing me because I'm a Christian" and the famous "Two Corinthians" blunder), and all manner of shameful words and deeds, both from his past, but more concerning from the present. He has NO principles. NONE. And this has nothing to do with the Access Hollywood video, or Howard Stern show quotes. None of that was surprising, and my mind was made up long before that. In fact I can't understand why anyone would be. This is a man who referenced his privates in a presidential primary debate. And people are shocked by what he says in private? Pfft.
And yet this isn't a case of my guy didn't win so I refuse to vote. I like Gingrinch in 2012, but voted for Romney in the general. I didnt like the fact Romney was a liberal republucan, nor that he was a mormon. But he had principles, even if they were from a psuedo Christian group.
I voted McCain in 2008 (i think, honestly I dont remember if I voted or intended to but didn't make it). Prior to that I didnt pay attention to primaries but I did vote for Bush both times (gladly). And in 96 I was in high school. I've always voted for the GOP candidate, even when it was someone I didn't care for.
But I can't vote for Trump, the consequences be what they may. But all you guys ripping people who won't vote for Trump, remember 2 things:
1)my single vote won't matter, because he's alienated millions more, not only republican, but would be cross over dems, and most independents. He's going to lose so bad that the conscientious objectors vote wont even matter.
2)Even if he did win, he wouldn't do what he says. He has no principles, he is an uber megalomaniac, and no ally of Christianity, especially conservative red hot Bible preaching Christianity. If he won, all it would do is send the message that we will vote for anyone, and as the lines between democrat and republican candidate are blurred more than ever this year, so shall it ever be. It will be the end of political and moral conservatism as we know it. It's a good thing if Trump loses....NOT in the immediate future, but in the medium to long term.
The best thing for republicans and conservatives is such a landslide victory by Hillary, that it causes a reaction back to our core principles, and results in a big mid term win in 2018, and a much better GOP candidate in 2020.
