Sorry, but while everyone was ignoring long genealogy lists in Bible studies, others of us stay with the program and found that they were important. So while every was speaking in tongues while the Rabbi is praying for ya'll, we are just shaking our heads. Jesus needed the genealogies in Matthew and Luke. Without them you CAN'T prove He is who He said He is.

Sorry, but the only thing connecting modern Israel with the Bible is its archeology. Not its people. They are as Jewish as I am.

I believe I did respond to your question on lineage. You either ignored or missed it.

I would say once again that mentioning the Gentile woman in the lineage wasn't his main point, but I still believe it shows that He came to save both Jew and Gentile.

I do still believe that the women mentioned in the lineage were important, as Matthew makes clear - God was coming to save the lost sheep Israel and that the Gentiles would also benefit. You can't read Rahab's name and think otherwise, IMO. It stands to reason as Jesus spoke to the Jewish people first - "and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."

Genealogy wasn’t about teaching God's care for non Israelites.
They always had opertunities to bring converts into heretz Israel.
Circumcision was important symbol for converts to make them physical Israelites and join them to Israel. A circumcision of the mind is what God was really looking for. The only genealogy Jesus even acknowledges is His Apostolic Jesus Name Church. That is the Holy Land, that is where saints are born, and take on His name. His bride, His wife, bringing forth His generation which will never pass away.
