Re: Tony Spell has church in spite of the ban
Here are a few things to consider:
The protester had two different cameras set up and positioned upon himself before the incidents took place, including one across the street. It is possible he was hoping to set-up a situation where he instigated and taunted and caused someone to lose their cool so he could cry foul and have the prearranged cameras in place to catch it. Motives matter.
The white truck was driven by who? Is a member of the church according to who? Could have been protester's 2nd cousin for all we know.
Mr. Spell is paying a higher price and might possibly pay more of a price than any of us currently are, or have, as far as I can tell, and so, it seems to me to be important to not judge too harshly someone whose shoes you aren't wearing and maybe, just maybe, couldn't fill, if you happened to be in the same spot under the same pressure???
And even if all he is doing is for a show, as some have alleged, just remember some preach Christ in sincerity and some for contention, so, as Paul did, so should we: rejoice if Christ is being preached by Mr. Spell, even if it's just for contention.
Lastly, perhaps in all the speculation and judgments and arm-chair quarterbacking, we might remember to sincerely intercede and pray to the Lord God of Hosts for him and his family, his church, and his community, and that, even if the bus incident hurt his witness, that Jesus would help him work through it and be recovered.
