IMO, there is no difference in the "Taliban" and "Auschwitz". Both are extreme, oppressively authoritative and involve genocide.
Not to me sorry...Auschwitz is a place, not a government. A literal place where some of the worst things imaginable happened. It doesn't express control to me, just perverted, sick, torture, dismembering, experiments, GASSING, murder, starvation, mass graves, killing your own to survive, rape, pedophiles, diseased rotting flesh, the smell of charred remains...no, I don't get the jump to those who want STRICT standards, hardly any entertainment, or modern things, as the same. Yes, to me its GOOFY to ban a wrist watch and that makes no sense to me...but to say that my brother in Christ, who may not even call ME his brother, may loathe me because I like modern things and Movados, is like those who committed these crimes against humanity is shameful AT BEST....

Hey, Monk, nobody's wrong all the time. You're bound to get it right once in a while.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Thank you, Monkeyman. I know that I missed the action going on that precipitated this thread, so I'm in a different frame of mind on it.

When someone, IMO, is equating circumstances and issues like NLYP did, I think of the government rule, at that point, and not the genocide. But, that's just me. When I think of all of it, my mind goes to where it started and not where it ended.

I agree... the atrocities were the results of a certain way of thinking... when I refer to NAZI's, I refer to the mindset. Which for some reason seems to be okay when we compare feminists to NAZI's, but then somehow it becomes about the atrocities when you compare ultra-cons to them...

So true and I see we can appear to be just like him if we aren't careful. So, point taken, you old windbag!

Can I get an infraction for that?
