We had a very tragic thing happen in Toledo this last week. One of the police officers was shot and killed by a 15 year old boy at 2:00 am. He and another officer had stopped this kid and a 19 year old. It had something to do with a drug deal. The boys took off running and then the 15 year old turned and shot the officer right in the chest, killing him instantly.
The mayor of Toledo is now trying to push a thing through City Council that will hold PARENTS responsible when their kids get in trouble. Ooooo boy!! That's a tough one. One the one hand, I want to agree with the idea. On the other, what happens when you have good parents who have a kid who just refuses to listen?? I've seen parents who are strong in the church who have kids who go bad and get in trouble. What happens then??? Boy, oh boy. I'm not sure if there is a good answer to this problem. Sad, just so sad!
What do you all think?

Oh boy Margie, this is a tough one! However, no matter how well you raise your children and no matter how great a Christian you are and no matter that you've done everything right (which we know no one is able to), our kids still have a choice. God gives us all a choice to do good or bad. Some kids just don't want to serve God and do what's right...I'm sure there are many on this forum who could testify to this. I would hate to see the parents responsible. Now I know, that there are many instances where the kid was raised in a horrible invironment and the parents were not a good influence, but what about the homes that are safe and godly? This could be a huge mistake.
