Are you always this easily confused?
You just think you are lost, God does not lose His creation that easily. You may be lost to tradition, religion and fear, but you are not lost to the heavenly Father, he know exactly were you are and He will leave the 99 and seek till He finds the one lost!

Every knee.... and every mouth.... will confess... Jesus Christ Lord to the glory of God the Father. Thru the fire and the launderers soap you will finally surrender to the Redeemer of the Creation.

What is so celebratory about it other than possibly just a "wrong" spirit...

It just doesn't seem to be something to celebrate???

in other words I don't get it...
particularly since some women might actually want their long hair AND believe what they were previously taught. This sends people into confusion. I have seen people leave "standards" abruptly like that and they struggle for a long time trying to find their balance for a while and some actually leave church entirely...not because of standards but because of the confusion upon leaving standards.

BTW this sounds like the opposite, where as they taught against cutting hair they are now promoting cutting it...that is weird like I said because that confuses people that might actually like their hair that way and feel pressured to cut it and join the club

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Very careful groundwork over an extended period of time must be laid down through Biblical teaching to move peoples foundation from being wrapped around legalism to a better understanding of the Gospel.

Without that teaching and preaching over time any sudden outward changes cause a psychological mess in peoples minds as their conditioning over many years causes them great guilt that some then confuse with conviction.
Well said CC1, I have seen people jerked for one paradigm to another and you are right it is usually disastrous.

It was a ten to fifteen year process for my wife and I, very careful to seek God and to know that He was our guide. The standards were not the issue at all, it was the deeper things that directed our paths. Contrary to most UC's perception, apparel and outward standards were the very least of our concerns and the last to go.

Some I have observed hated the outward so much that they jumped off the deep end and discovered they couldn't swim.

The whole subject is out of spiritual context as a pervasive doctrine, should be personal decisions following ones reception of the Word. Deal with the things of the heart the exterior will reflected the interior. Imposed outward rules are a mask and hypocritical.

Scupples,

Here is my Love & Truth church story!

I was told by someone who heard your choir sing at Tommy Galloway's church dedication a few years ago that either your choir director or praise and worship leader was a guy with black finger nail polish on! Truth or fiction????

Well, I forgot....that one preacher recently said that our church was full of homosexuals. But we don't even know him and he's never been to our place, so we just wrote him off as being STUPID.
It seems like they'd just move on....but I guess when you don't have a TV there is little else to do....
